Southern Railways has introduced a scheme to sell food items at reduced prices at railway stations. The initiative aims to provide affordable food options to passengers and promote convenience during their travels.This scheme has been implemented initially in major cities such as Chennai, Madurai, Salem, Tiruchi, and Tiruvannamalai. Under this program, items like lemon rice, poori priced at ₹20, masala dosa at ₹50, and 200 ml water bottles at ₹3 are being sold.
Food counters equipped for this purpose have been set up at railway platforms, offering a variety of budget-friendly options to commuters. This initiative not only addresses the need for affordable food but also enhances the overall experience of passengers at railway stations.
Travelers can now enjoy a quick and economical meal while waiting for their trains, thanks to this commendable effort by Southern Railways.
