Filmmaker Santhakumar’s upcoming film ‘Rasavathi – The Alchemist’, a romantic action-crime thriller, starring Arjun Das is releasing 10 May. It is bankrolled by his home banner of DNA Mechanic Company.

Sakthi Film Factory B. Sakthivelan will be distributing ‘Rasavathi – The Alchemist’.

Santhakumar says, “The film is about a Siddha doctor in his 30s leading a peaceful life in Kodaikanal, but with a buried past that keeps piercing his soul. He comes across a new-to-town girl, who quitting her IT job has landed up in this hilly region for a peaceful pursuit of life. When the upheavals of the past are getting healed by his paradisiacal moments, he experiences the hazardous turbulences caused by a local inspector. The entire crew has been a bliss to work with. I thank Sakthi Film Factory B. Sakthivelan sir for choosing this film, and facilitating a greater release on May 10.”

Set across the landscapes of Kodaikanal, Madurai, Kadalur, and Palani. Rasavathi is a story through the past and present, with a present timeline set in Kodaikanal. Focusing on relationships, the film goes through various emotions of love, anger, revenge, and loss.

The film features Arjun Das and Tanya Ravichandran in the lead characters with an ensemble star-cast of Ramya Subramanian, G.M. Sundar, Sujith Shankar, Reshma Venkatesh, Sujatha, Rishikanth and many familiar actors performing important characters.
