Congress indulging in appeasement politics: Annamalai

Tamil Nadu BJP State President, K Annamalai, has leveled accusations against the Congress, alleging the party’s engagement in religious appeasement politics. Speaking during the Lok Sabha election campaign in support of BJP MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar in Karimnagar, Annamalai criticized the Congress for what he deemed as long-standing indulgence in divisive practices.

In an interaction with a news agency, Annamalai highlighted the Congress’s track record of introducing religious reservations, which he claimed contradicts the principles outlined in the Constitution. He asserted that while the Constitution explicitly prohibits religious reservations, it was the Congress that introduced them, thereby infringing upon the rights of SCs, STs, and OBCs. In contrast, Annamalai emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to upholding the rights of marginalized communities and strengthening the constitutional framework.

Amidst the ongoing election fervor, Annamalai remarked on what he described as a prevailing “Modi wave” sweeping across the nation, including states in southern India such as Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and parts of Karnataka. He predicted a decisive victory for the BJP in the upcoming elections, scheduled for June 4, foreseeing a historic moment as the party secures a majority of MP seats and returns to power with an overwhelming mandate.
