TN to get rains till 16 May


The Chennai Meteorological Department has issued a press release cautioning residents of Tamil Nadu about the likelihood of heavy rainfall in the state until the 16 May. According to the forecast, variable wind direction in the upper atmosphere may result in light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds ranging from 30 to 40 kilometers per hour across Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal.

Specifically, districts including Theni, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, and Kanyakumari witnessed heavy rainfall. The weather pattern is anticipated to extend to Madurai tomorrow and encompass Sivagangai district on the 15th. Furthermore, on the 16th, heavy rainfall is forecasted for Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Karur, Namakkal, Salem, Theni, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, and Kanyakumari districts.

This weather advisory comes as a precautionary measure to alert residents and authorities about the potential impact of the inclement weather conditions.
