Tamil Nadu Science Forum is organising a free lecture — ‘from accidents to fame – role of serendipity in science’ — on May 25, from 11am to 1pm at Anna Centenary Library in Kotturpuram.The speaker is K S Vishwanathan, visiting professor of chemistry at Krea University. He was a faculty of IIT Madras and IISER Mohali.
The lecture will focus on how not all discoveries are products of preplanned experiments, but can also be a result of accidents in laboratories.
The speaker will talk about interesting discoveries that have resulted from accidents, particularly in chemical and biological sciences.
