The Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) has launched a convenient new payment method for its consumers, allowing those who use more than 500 units of electricity to pay their bills via WhatsApp using Unified Payments Interface (UPI). This initiative aims to streamline the payment process and enhance consumer convenience.
To use this new service, consumers need to follow a simple procedure:
Send a WhatsApp Message:
Start by sending a message to the TANGEDCO WhatsApp number: 94987 94987.
Verify Authenticity: Ensure the authenticity of the contact by looking for the TANGEDCO logo and a green verification checkmark ().
Security Note:
It’s crucial to verify the official number before making any payments. Always check for the TANGEDCO logo and the green verification checkmark to avoid potential scams or fraud.
This innovative approach by TNEB reflects a growing trend towards digital solutions in public utilities, aiming to provide a hassle-free experience for consumers. By leveraging the widespread use of WhatsApp and the security of UPI transactions, TNEB ensures a secure and efficient payment method for high-usage electricity consumers.
For further details or assistance, consumers are encouraged to contact TNEB customer service or visit the official TNEB website.
