Polling begins for Phase 5 of LS polls

The Phase 5 of the Lok Sabha Election began this morning, which will cover 49 seats across 6 States and two Union Territories. The states and Union Territories participating in Phase 5 polls are Maharashtra (23), West Bengal (7), Bihar (5), Jharkhand (3) and Odisha (5), while one each from Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Voting at all booths began at 7 AM.
The prominent leaders contesting in phase 5 are Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, BJP leaders Rajnath Singh, Smriti Irani, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Piyush Goyal, Ujjwal Nikam, Karan Bhushan Singh, LJP (Ramvilas) chief Chirag Paswan, JKNC chief Omar Abdullah, and RJD leader Rohini Acharya.
In his post on ‘X’ PM Modi urged the voters to increasingly participate in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha Elections. He wrote in Hindi, “In the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections, voting will be held today for 49 seats in 8 states and union territories. I request all the voters of this phase to cast their votes and create a new record of voting.”
He especially appealed to women and young voters to participate in the ‘festival of democracy.’

The Phase 5 of the Lok Sabha Election began this morning which will cover 49 seats across 6 States and two Union Territories.
