In a robust defense of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent meditation practices, the Tamil Nadu BJP unit has labeled opposition to his spiritual pursuits as both immoral and transgressive. This assertion came on Friday from ANS Prasad, the state BJP spokesperson, who criticized detractors for their lack of respect for India’s rich cultural traditions.Prasad’s comments come in the wake of criticism aimed at Prime Minister Modi for his public display of meditation and spiritual activities. According to Prasad, this opposition stems from a group that lacks faith in India’s ancient practices of spirituality, meditation, yoga, prayer, and sun worship. He emphasized that these critics are disconnected from the cultural essence and heritage of the Indian soil.
“Those who tried to bring down Prime Minister Narendra Modi and those who are going to lose, say it is a crime if he walks, stands, or sits. They are criticizing that one should not sit and meditate like this,” Prasad stated. He argued that such personal attacks are not only rude but also an inappropriate intrusion into the Prime Minister’s personal life.
Prasad highlighted that Prime Minister Modi’s engagement with meditation is a personal choice and a reflection of his deep respect for Indian cultural practices. He asserted that others have no right to interfere with these personal choices, and any such interference constitutes a form of trespassing.
This defense by the Tamil Nadu BJP unit underscores the party’s broader strategy of aligning with traditional Indian values and presenting PM Modi as a leader who embodies these principles.
