Southern Railway has announced the operation of special trains between Tambaram and Tiruvannamalai to facilitate the movement of pilgrims for the Pournami Girivalam on Friday and Saturday. This initiative aims to provide convenient travel options for the thousands of devotees expected to participate in the event.
According to a statement from Southern Railway, the special trains will run as follows:
Tambaram to Tiruvannamalai (Train No. 06127):
Departure from Tambaram: 12:00 hrs on Friday
Arrival at Tiruvannamalai: 16:00 hrs on the same day

Chengalpattu: Arrival at 12:28 hrs, Departure at 12:30 hrs
Villupuram: Arrival at 14:20 hrs, Departure at 14:40 hrs
Tiruvannamalai to Tambaram (Train No. 06128):
Departure from Tiruvannamalai: 08:00 hrs on Saturday
Arrival at Tambaram: 12:30 hrs on the same day

Pournami Girivalam, a significant spiritual event, attracts thousands of pilgrims to Tiruvannamalai every full moon night.
