Trailer of Kamal’s Indian 2 is out

The much-anticipated trailer of Kamal Haasan’s ‘Indian 2’ was released yesterday, creating a buzz among fans and film enthusiasts. The trailer launch event, held in the morning at PVR Palazzo, saw the presence of the film’s lead actor Kamal Haasan, who spoke highly of director S Shankar and the team behind the film.
During the event, Kamal Haasan lauded Shankar’s vision and creativity, highlighting his ability to elevate a sequel to a global scale. Haasan revealed that he had initially requested Shankar to work on the sequel immediately after the release of ‘Indian’ in 1996. However, it wasn’t feasible at the time. Reflecting on the journey, he remarked, “But thanks to Indian politics and the corrupt system, we could still make ‘Indian 2’.”
Despite numerous challenges, the film’s producers were determined to see the project through to completion. Kamal Haasan expressed his gratitude and optimism, stating that the time had finally come for the team to enjoy their hard-earned success.
In a lighter vein, Haasan noted that Shankar still looks youthful, and he himself hasn’t aged much on screen. He also hinted at the possibility of ‘Indian 3’, though he mentioned it wasn’t the right occasion to delve into details about it.
The event was tinged with a sense of loss as Haasan remembered the late actors Manobala and Vivek, who passed away before the film’s release.
‘Indian 2’ is a sequel to the 1996 blockbuster ‘Indian’, which featured Kamal Haasan in the iconic role of Veerasekaran Senapathy. The sequel reunites Haasan and Shankar, promising to bring back the ‘Indian’ thaatha to tackle contemporary issues.
Director S Shankar shared insights about the film, revealing that ‘Indian 2’ will mark the return of Senapathy in today’s world. Unlike the first film, which was predominantly set in Tamil Nadu, the sequel is designed to have a global appeal. Shankar assured the audience that ‘Indian 2’ will be a thought-provoking film, delving deeper into the themes of corruption and justice.
Highlighting the rigorous preparation for the role, Shankar mentioned that Kamal Haasan wore prosthetics for 70 days for ‘Indian 2’, compared to 40 days for the first film. He praised Haasan’s dedication, noting that he was always the first to arrive on set and the last to leave. The use of thinner prosthetics in the sequel will allow the audience to better see Haasan’s emotions, enhancing the impact of his performance.
The release of ‘Indian 2’ is eagerly awaited, with fans excited to see Kamal Haasan reprise his legendary role and witness the cinematic magic crafted by Shankar.
