Two staff held for stealing Rs 1.15 lakh from Tiruttani temple


Tiruttani police have arrested two female employees of the Tiruttani Murugan temple for stealing devotees’ offerings worth Rs 1.15 lakh. The suspects, Thenmozhi (35) from Veeramangalam and Vyjayanthi (44) from Nagapoondi, were caught on CCTV during the theft.
The stolen money, which had been offered by devotees in June, was being counted on Monday in the presence of temple joint commissioner (in-charge) Arunachalam and trustees Suresh Babu, Nagan, and Mohanan. During the counting process, Thenmozhi and Vyjayanthi were observed stealing the money on the surveillance camera.
Upon discovering the theft, the temple administration promptly notified the Tiruttani Police. Officers arrived swiftly and began searching for the stolen funds. During the investigation, Rs 1.15 lakh was recovered from the two accused women.
