To accommodate the increased travel demand during the weekend, the state transport corporation will operate 950 special buses on Friday and Saturday, supplementing their regular daily services. This initiative aims to facilitate seamless travel for passengers during the weekend rush.
Kilambakkam Bus Terminus: A total of 590 special buses will be operated, with 265 buses on Friday and 325 on Saturday. These buses will travel to key destinations including Tiruvannamalai, Trichy, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, and Salem.
Koyambedu Bus Terminus: 65 special buses will be operated each on Friday and Saturday to destinations such as Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Hosur, and Bengaluru. Additionally, 15 special buses will run to Tiruvannamalai from Koyambedu on both days.
Other Locations: From Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, and Erode, 200 special buses will be operated to various parts of the state.
Return Services:
To facilitate the return journey of passengers, special buses will also be operated from Chennai and Bengaluru on Sunday.
Passenger Bookings:
The official release highlighted that as of now, 7,010 passengers have booked seats for Friday, 2,387 for Saturday, and 6,756 for Monday. With more bookings anticipated, passengers are encouraged to use the online ticket booking facilities to ensure a smooth travel experience.
This proactive measure by the transport corporation is expected to significantly ease the travel woes of passengers during the weekend, ensuring that everyone reaches their destinations comfortably and on time.
