Tamil Nadu has been hailed as the leading state in India, owing to the innovative and inclusive schemes implemented by the Chief Minister Stalin-led DMK government. In a statement issued on Sunday, the state government highlighted the success of various pioneering initiatives that have contributed to the state’s exemplary performance.
Since assuming office in 2021, CM Stalin has introduced several key schemes aimed at improving the lives of all sectors of the Tamil population, including women, students, workers, farmers, and fishermen. Among these are the “Vidiyal Payanam,” “Kalvi Munnetra Urimai Thogai” (KMUT), “Pudhumai Penn,” and “Mudhaleettalargalin Mudhal Mugavari” programs.
“The schemes implemented by CM Stalin to ensure the wellbeing of all sectors of the people are attracting neighbouring states and even foreign countries,” the statement noted, emphasizing the broad appeal and impact of these initiatives.
One of the standout programs, “Vidiyal Payanam,” has enabled women, differently-abled persons, and transgender individuals to make approximately 477 crore free bus journeys, saving them up to Rs 888 per month. This scheme has significantly enhanced mobility and financial savings for these communities, reflecting the government’s commitment to inclusivity and accessibility.
The state’s achievements in fostering a conducive environment for start-ups have also been recognized at the national level. “The Centre has released a list of states that have created an enabling environment for start-ups. The achievement of the Dravidian Model government can be clearly understood from the fact that Tamil Nadu holds the first position across the nation,” the statement added.
