Chief Minister MK Stalin hailed the recent victory in the Vikravandi assembly constituency by-election as a strong endorsement of the Dravidian model of governance. In a heartfelt letter to his party members, the DMK president expressed his gratitude to the voters and declared the victory a testament to three years of effective governance under his leadership.
“The Dravidian Model government is a government for the people. The monumental victory in the by-election to the Vikravandi Assembly Constituency is a testament to three years of DMK’s good governance,” Stalin stated, underscoring the administration’s commitment to serving the people of Tamil Nadu.
Stalin extended sincere thanks to the voters of Vikravandi, emphasizing the significance of their support in reinforcing the DMK’s agenda. Responding to allegations from the AIADMK and the PMK, who boycotted the bypoll citing concerns over fairness, Stalin remarked, “The principal opposition AIADMK did not contest the Vikravandi bypoll and took a stand in favor of their secret partner. But the DMK contested the bypoll in a transparent democratic manner.”
He condemned the opposition’s campaign tactics, which he claimed aimed to incite caste and religious tensions and discredit the DMK. “Conspiracies against the DMK government in a single assembly constituency work to incite caste and religious violence, filthy slanders leveled at our vital leader Kalaignar and the party were poured in the bypoll campaign by our rivals. But all these, including the secret dealings of the AIADMK and the BJP-led NDA, were defeated by the people of Vikravandi,” Stalin asserted.
Dedicating the victory to the late chief minister M Karunanidhi, Stalin reflected on the enduring legacy of social justice and welfare schemes initiated during Karunanidhi’s tenure. “The social justice and social welfare schemes of the Dravidian Model government, which started during the reign of Kalaignar M Karunanidhi and continue till today, have given credentials to DMK and given a huge victory. Let us dedicate this victory to the Tamil leader Kalaignar and continue our work to the people.”
Stalin also highlighted the broader success of the INDIA opposition bloc, noting that they had secured 10 out of 13 bypolls conducted across India this week. “We will start preparing for the next election and travel with ideas for the development of the next generation and the strength to implement it,” he added.
