Kanchi Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal announced that an educational service project will be launched soon in Rameswaram.
During his visit to the Rameswaram Temple, Swamigal spoke to reporters, sharing his insights and plans for the region.
“People from all over the world come to worship at the Ramanathaswamy Temple. The sea here is considered the Agni Theertham, where devotees take a holy dip before worshipping,” Swamigal said.
He noted that Rameswaram is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga sites that Adi Shankaracharya visited. “Kanchi Maha Periyava also visited this sacred place several times to perform abhishekam and offer prayers,” he added.
Swamigal highlighted a significant event from 2023, when he took sand from Dhanushkodi to create a Shivalinga, which was then dissolved in the waters of the Ganges in Kashi. “I brought Ganga water in a kalasam from Kashi and performed abhishekam and puja for Ramanathaswamy today,” he explained.
Emphasizing the importance of national unity and fraternity, Swamigal stated, “People should live together in brotherhood for the unity of the nation.” He then announced the forthcoming launch of educational services and other beneficial projects for the people of Rameswaram.
This initiative aims to uplift the local community and enhance educational opportunities, reflecting Swamigal’s commitment to social and spiritual development.
