Chief Minister M.K. Stalin virtually inaugurated 956 new school classrooms, 12 science labs, and new buildings for the School Education Department across Tamil Nadu on Friday. The total construction cost for these projects amounted to ₹264.15 crore.An official release detailed that 515 of the new classrooms have been built in 106 state-run high and higher secondary schools across 26 districts, while 441 classrooms have been added to 176 state-run primary schools in 25 districts.
In a separate event, CM Stalin distributed laptops to students from schools operated by the Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department who have secured admissions in prestigious higher education institutions. These institutions include the Indian Institute of Technology – Madras, National Institute of Technology in Tiruchi, Tamil Nadu National Law University, and the National Institute of Fashion Technology.
Additionally, CM Stalin virtually inaugurated new buildings for the Prison and Correctional Services Department. These buildings, constructed at a cost of ₹9.45 crore, are located in Chengalpattu and Villupuram districts.
The inauguration events saw the presence of Ministers S. Regupathy, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, and N. Kayalvizhi Selvaraj, along with Chief Secretary Shiv Das Meena and other senior officials.
