In a tragic and shocking turn of events, Surya, the wife of IAS officer Ranjit Tanvar, has died by suicide after being implicated in a child kidnapping case in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. The boy was abducted from an auto-rickshaw on July 10, and the police successfully rescued him on July 12, arresting three individuals in the process. The investigation eventually led to Surya, who was identified as a key figure in the kidnapping plot.
Sources revealed that Surya, originally from Tamil Nadu, was residing in Madurai and had accrued significant debts. To alleviate her financial burdens, she allegedly orchestrated the kidnapping of a child from a family to whom she owed money, demanding Rs 2 crore in ransom. Following the crime, Surya fled to Gujarat.
Surya was admitted to a hospital in Gandhi Nagar on Saturday and passed away the following day. Her husband, Ranjit Tanvar, informed the media that the couple had filed for divorce.
