
A tragic incident occurred at the Maruntheeswarar Temple in Thiruvanmiyur when a man, identified as Palani, fell from the temple tower on Sunday. Palani, a resident of Kottivakkam, was engaged in maintenance work on the tower when he slipped and fell.
Palani sustained a severe head injury from the fall. Despite immediate efforts to rush him to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries on the way. The body has been sent to Royapettah Government Hospital for an autopsy.
Local authorities and the temple management expressed their condolences to Palani’s family. The police have filed a case and are conducting a thorough inquiry into the incident to determine the exact cause of the fall and ensure that all safety protocols were followed during the maintenance work.
