DMK govt coercing funds for F4 Racing event: Annamalai

In a dramatic turn of events, BJP state president K Annamalai has leveled serious allegations against the ruling DMK government regarding the upcoming F4 racing event, scheduled to take place in Chennai between August 30 and September 1. Annamalai accused the DMK government of coercing industries into funding the event, which he described as the dream project of Udhayanidhi Stalin, the state’s Sports Minister and son of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin. According to Annamalai, the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) has been pressuring industries, especially from Chennai and the Western Kongu region, to contribute funds or face regulatory troubles. “The Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board (TNPCB) has been tasked with one job in the past few months. They have been compelling industries mostly from Chennai and Western Kongu region of TN to cough up money for the F4 racing event or face trouble,” Annamalai stated in a social media post. He further claimed that small business owners, entrepreneurs, and industrialists in Tamil Nadu are being forced to support Udhayanidhi’s ambitions. Annamalai alleged that TNPCB officials have established a rate card system, with contributions ranging from Rs 25,000 to Rs 1 crore, to be made to a company named “Racing Promotions Private Limited.” He claimed that any business refusing to comply would be subjected to punitive inspections by TNPCB officials. “Incidentally, Akhilesh Reddy, a close friend of the Gopalapuram Scion, is the Chairman and Managing Director of ‘Racing Promotions Private Limited,'” Annamalai noted, drawing attention to the connections between the company and the DMK leadership. He also demanded that the financial statements of Racing Promotions Private Limited be made public, to ensure transparency and accountability.
