Beijing, Aug 2: China has expressed its profound gratitude to the Indian Navy for rescuing a critically injured Chinese mariner from a bulk carrier in the Arabian Sea. The 51-year-old mariner, who suffered severe blood loss, was airlifted by an Indian naval helicopter from the Panama-flagged vessel “Zhong Shan Men” on July 24.
According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian, the Indian Navy’s swift response and medical care were instrumental in saving the mariner’s life. The operation took place amid challenging weather conditions approximately 370 km from Mumbai.
The rescued mariner is now stable and recovering in China. The Chinese government has commended the Indian personnel for their humanitarian efforts. This incident highlights the ongoing cooperation between the two nations, even amid tense geopolitical relations.
