TN continues to shine as India’s education hub: CM


Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin expressed immense pride as Tamil Nadu continues to excel as a key education hub in India.

This statement comes in response to the recently released National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024 by the Union Ministry of Education.

In the 2024 rankings, the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT-M) has maintained its position as the top educational institution in India for the sixth consecutive year. Following IIT-M, the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru (IISc) secured the second position, while IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi claimed the third and fourth spots, respectively.

In the specific category of engineering colleges, IIT Madras also retained its first place, with IIT Delhi and IIT Bombay following in second and third positions.

Taking to social media, Chief Minister Stalin shared his thoughts on Tamil Nadu’s continued excellence in the higher education sector. “Our state continues to stand far ahead of others in the higher education rankings. It is a proud moment that Tamil Nadu shines as the educational hub of India,” he remarked.

The Chief Minister also highlighted the significance of several top-tier educational institutions operating in Tamil Nadu, which contribute to the state’s distinguished standing. He further emphasized that this achievement is a testament to the Dravidian model, which has been instrumental in shaping the future of the nation.
