DMK announces boycott of Governor’s Tea Party

DMK’s Organizational Secretary, R.S. Bharathi, announced that the party will boycott the tea party hosted by Governor R.N. Ravi, citing political reasons for the decision.
The tea party is being hosted by the Governor today in Chennai to mark Independence Day. Several DMK allies, including the Congress, Communist parties, MDMK, and VCK, had already declared their intention to skip the event. This led to speculation about DMK’s stance on the matter.
Addressing the situation, R.S. Bharathi stated, “On the basis of our political stance, DMK will be boycotting the tea party hosted by the Governor.”
In a related event in Chennai, DMK MP Kanimozhi commented on the Governor’s role, stating, “The Governor should remain neutral. When he behaves like a partisan, the opposition parties are bound to respond by boycotting such events, like the tea party.”
