Tamil Nadu’s Minister for Industries TRB Raja has outlined the significant strides made in the state’s industrial sector over the past three years. Speaking about the government’s efforts, he emphasized that numerous Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) have been signed to boost industrial growth. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is personally overseeing the implementation of these agreements, ensuring that they lead to production and job creation. To facilitate this, a dedicated team of officials has been appointed.The minister highlighted that as a result of the initiatives taken over the past three years, including the Chief Minister’s foreign trips and the Global Investors Meet, 19 companies are now set to commence production in Tamil Nadu. These projects have attracted investments worth ₹17,616 crore and are expected to create 65,000 jobs.
Overall, the state has secured investments totaling ₹68,000 crore, with over 100,000 jobs being guaranteed.
Additionally, Minister Raja addressed the long-pending issue of the Coimbatore airport expansion. He mentioned that after eight years of delay, the necessary funds have been allocated, and land acquisition has been completed. He urged the Central Government to expedite the next phase of the expansion work.
