Southern Railway has announced the extension of two special trains operating between Tambaram and Nagercoil.
Train No. 06012: The Nagercoil-Tambaram Weekly Special will run on 13 additional Sundays, from September 1 to November 24.
Train No. 06011: The Tambaram-Nagercoil Weekly Special will operate on 13 additional Mondays, from September 2 to November 25.
Both trains will maintain their existing timings, stoppages, and composition, and reservations for these extended services are now open to passengers.
Cancellation of Special Trains
In addition to the extensions, Southern Railway has announced the cancellation of two special trains:
Train No. 06043: The Dr. MGR Chennai Central-Kochuveli Weekly Special, scheduled for September 4, 11, 18, and 25, is fully canceled.
Train No. 06044: The Kochuveli-Dr. MGR Chennai Central Weekly Special, scheduled for September 5, 12, 19, and 26, is also fully canceled.
The cancellations are due to operational reasons, and passengers are advised to make alternate travel arrangements.
The extension of the Tambaram-Nagercoil special trains is expected to provide additional travel options for passengers during the specified period. Meanwhile, the cancellation of the Chennai-Kochuveli trains may affect travelers who had planned to use these services.
