In an initiative to enhance technical skills among students, 10,000 engineering and polytechnic students in Tamil Nadu will be provided with internship training each year. The program includes financial support of Rs 16,600 per student for a 25-day internship, focusing on practical, hands-on experience in various industries.
An official overseeing the program emphasized that priority will be given to practical sessions, with students being taken to industries relevant to their courses. “The students will actively participate and work alongside industry workers, gaining exposure to the latest technologies used in the machines,” the official explained.
At the conclusion of the internship, students may be selected by the industries based on the skills they demonstrated during the training. In addition to this opportunity, all participants will receive a certificate of completion. The official also noted that placement drives would be conducted for the students following the internship, offering them further employment opportunities based on the skills acquired.
This initiative aims to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry demands, equipping students with the necessary skills to excel in their future careers.
