Former AIADMK minister Sellur Raju expressed his disappointment over the rapid political rise of Udhayanidhi Stalin, saying, “Yesterday, he was an actor in films, and today, he is becoming the Deputy Chief Minister. This can only happen in the DMK family.”Raju recalled the statements made by former DMK leader Karunanidhi, who had once predicted that the AIADMK, founded by MGR, wouldn’t last for ten days. However, MGR’s leadership proved otherwise. “With a single signature, MGR created 22,000 ration shops and provided free rice to the people. It is because of his numerous welfare schemes that MGR continues to live in the hearts of the people,” he said.
Raju further compared MGR’s leadership to that of Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS). He noted that while many doubted Palaniswami’s government, predicting it wouldn’t last, EPS exceeded all expectations by leading the state for over four years. “In 2026, it will be Palaniswami who will become the Chief Minister again,” Raju confidently asserted.
