Balasubrahmanyam, fondly known as SPB and referred to as the “Singing Moon” by his fans, was a prolific singer who performed over 40,000 songs in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam. He passed away on September 25, 2020, due to complications from COVID-19.
SPB’s legacy continues to shine through his timeless contributions to Indian music, and this tribute by the government is a gesture to commemorate his extraordinary influence on the music industry and his indelible mark on millions of hearts.
