The Tamil Nadu Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, has approved 14 new investment projects worth ₹38,698.80 crore, which are expected to generate employment opportunities for 46,931 people across the state, according to Minister for Industries Thangam Thennarasu.

The cabinet meeting took place at the Secretariat yesterday following recent administrative changes. The session, which began at 11:00 AM and concluded by 12:00 PM, focused on discussions about attracting new industrial investments to Tamil Nadu. Several companies were granted permission to establish new industries in the state.

In addition to investment decisions, the Chief Minister instructed district ministers to review and implement precautionary measures to prevent any disruptions due to the monsoon. These efforts aim to ensure that adequate preparations are made to mitigate potential damages caused by heavy rainfall.

Speaking to the media after the meeting, Minister Thangam Thennarasu revealed that the approved investment projects would be spread across various districts. “These investments will bring about significant employment opportunities for over 46,000 people. Our focus remains on attracting investments and creating jobs, particularly for the skilled and educated workforce in Tamil Nadu.”

He also noted that several recent investment projects have already commenced operations, and the government continues to extend structural incentives to support these initiatives. The minister emphasized that generating employment remains a key priority alongside achieving investment targets for the state.
