The organs and tissue samples of the individuals who died during the Marina Air Show in Chennai have been sent for forensic analysis, including a viscera examination, to determine the exact cause of death.On October 6, six individuals who attended the air show at Marina Beach tragically lost their lives after collapsing. The victims were identified as John (56) from Korukkupet, Srinivasan (54) from Perungalathur, Dinesh Kumar (37) from Andhra Pradesh, Karthikeyan (34) from Thiruvottiyur, and Mani (37) from Villupuram district.
Local police stations, including Anna Salai, Thiruvallikeni, Mylapore, Marina, and Royapettah, have registered individual cases and are conducting investigations. The post-mortem examinations were carried out at government hospitals including Rajiv Gandhi, Royapettah, and Omandurar.
Preliminary reports suggest that the victims may have died due to heart failure or cardiac arrest, with heat exhaustion being a potential contributing factor. However, in order to precisely determine the cause of death, forensic experts are conducting a viscera examination.
The samples are undergoing testing at the Chennai Forensic Department to ascertain the exact reason behind the sudden deaths, with results expected to provide more clarity on the circumstances that led to the tragic incident.
