Chief Minister Stalin has urged people across Tamil Nadu, from school students to adults, to open savings accounts in post offices to promote financial security and responsible savings habits.In his statement, CM Stalin highlighted the importance of saving a portion of one’s income for future benefit, both for personal financial security and the pride of contributing to the nation. “World Thrift Day emphasizes the value of saving and the importance of being economical in spending,” he stated.
He underscored that post offices, with their small savings schemes, serve as a protective shield for the economically vulnerable, especially for low- and middle-income groups. These schemes provide a reliable way to manage family needs and handle unexpected expenses, offering financial stability to those who participate.
Quoting the popular saying, āSmall savings lead to a prosperous life,ā CM Stalin encouraged everyone, from school students to adults, to open a savings account in post offices. He emphasized that cultivating a habit of saving from a young age would lead to long-term financial benefits, aligning with the principles of World Thrift Day.
Each year on October 30, World Thrift Day is observed globally to promote the importance of savings and the need for financial prudence, spreading awareness among the public about the positive impacts of saving.
