The 117th birth anniversary and 62nd Guru Pooja of Muthuramalinga Thevar were celebrated grandly in Pasumpon, Ramanathapuram district. As part of the events, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin paid homage by garlanding the bronze statue of Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar at Goripalayam in Madurai. Following this, he paid floral tributes to a portrait of Muthuramalinga Thevar placed beneath the statue.The event saw the participation of various ministers and political dignitaries, including Ministers Murthy, P. Thiaga Rajan, I. Periyasamy, Thangam Thennarasu, R. Kannaappan, Mahesh, T.R.P. Raja, Geetha Jeevan, K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran, and Periyakaruppan. Key officials such as District Collector Sangeetha, Municipal Commissioner Dinesh Kumar, and Mayor Indrani also took part in the event.
Following the Guru Pooja celebrations, more than 5,000 police personnel were deployed in Madurai district to ensure security during the events.
