Stalin takes an indirect dig at Vijay

In his first public response following actor Vijay’s launch of Tamilaga Vettri Kalagam (TVK) — a party that positioned itself against the DMK — Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin took a measured approach, choosing not to directly name Vijay. Instead, Stalin commented on the recent rise of “newbies” in the political scene who, he noted, seem eager to see the DMK defeated. Speaking at a welfare event hosted by Anitha Achievers’ Academy in his Kolathur constituency, the Chief Minister reaffirmed the DMK’s commitment to governance over engaging in public spats.

Addressing what he called a misleading portrayal of the city’s flooding by a “minor section of the media,” Stalin alleged that some outlets were recycling images from last year to criticize the DMK unfairly. “They do it because they do not like the growth of the DMK. Now, new people are making a foray into politics. Even the newbies floating political parties want the DMK obliterated,” he said.

A Calm Response to Political Criticism
Stalin emphasized his government’s achievements over the last four years, dismissing the need to respond to every political provocation. “My humble request to them — please think of the achievements of the incumbent DMK regime,” he urged, invoking a famous line from the revered leader C.N. Annadurai: “Hail detractors!” He added, “I don’t bother about that. Our approach is only to do good to the people. We don’t have the need to unnecessarily reply to everyone. We don’t want to waste our time. We don’t even have sufficient time to serve the people.”

Dravidian Model Initiatives in Focus
The Chief Minister also highlighted his administration’s commitment to initiatives aimed at uplifting the people of Tamil Nadu. Stalin pointed to various schemes, such as “Naan Muthalvan,” “Tamil Puthalvan,” and the “Puthumai Penn” scheme, which are geared toward enhancing the educational and career opportunities for Tamil Nadu’s youth. “We are developing the all-round capability of Tamil Nadu students,” Stalin stated, emphasizing that his government’s focus has been on fulfilling its election promises. “In the nearly four years of the Dravidian model DMK regime, we have fulfilled most of the poll promises one by one. Even the remaining poll promises would be definitely fulfilled soon,” he reassured.

Reaffirming DMK’s Stance on Progressive Development
Stalin’s remarks illustrate his continued focus on governance and development, positioning the DMK as a government that prioritizes public welfare over confrontational politics. With the DMK’s flagship schemes in full swing, the CM seems intent on allowing the party’s achievements to speak for themselves as it heads into the latter half of its term.
