In response to the challenge posed by Leader of the Opposition, Edappadi K. Palaniswami (EPS), for an open debate on state government schemes, Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin has expressed his readiness to participate. His statement underscores his willingness to address opposition criticisms and showcase the government’s achievements.During an interaction with reporters, Udhayanidhi said, “I am ready to engage in a face-to-face debate with the Leader of the Opposition. If invited, I will certainly attend.” His response came after EPS publicly challenged the state government to a direct debate on the efficacy and impact of various government initiatives and policies.

When asked about criticisms over naming government schemes after former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, Udhayanidhi responded, “If not Karunanidhi, then whose name should we use? Criticisms are bound to come, but we cannot avoid naming schemes after him.”
