Chennai: Gold prices have seen a significant drop in Chennai, with the price of one sovereign decreasing by Rs. 1,080, bringing a wave of happiness among female shoppers. The fluctuation in gold prices has been noticeable over the past few days, with recent days experiencing ups and downs. However, following the conclusion of the Diwali festival, there has been less enthusiasm among people to purchase gold, according to local traders.Yesterday, the price of gold saw a decline of Rs. 440 per sovereign, settling at Rs. 57,760. However, in an unexpected turn of events, today’s gold prices saw a substantial drop. The price of one sovereign reduced by Rs. 1,080, bringing it down to Rs. 56,680. Similarly, the price of one gram of gold dropped by Rs. 135, now priced at Rs. 7,085.
This sudden reduction in gold prices has been welcomed by many, especially women who were previously waiting for favorable rates to make their purchases.
