The Madras High Court has granted permission for an event where BJP State Executive Committee member H. Raja will be honored with an award.
The petition was filed by Rajavel Nagarajan of Velachery, Chennai. According to the petition, the event, organized by the Pesu Tamizha Pesu foundation as part of its annual celebrations, is scheduled to take place tomorrow at a private hall in T. Nagar. During the event, the Sanatana Tamizhar award will be presented to H. Raja.
The petitioner mentioned that a request seeking permission for the event was submitted to the Mambalam Police Station on November 18. However, no decision was communicated regarding the request.
The petition came up for hearing before Justice P. Velmurugan. Arguing on behalf of the petitioner, the counsel stated, “The event is set to take place indoors, and hence the police should grant permission.” Accepting this argument, the judge directed the police to grant permission for the event and issued the necessary orders.
