Actor Jayam Ravi, son of renowned film editor Mohan, married Aarthi, daughter of television producer Sujatha Vijayakumar, in 2009. The couple has two sons.
Due to irreconcilable differences, the two have been living separately. Ravi filed a divorce petition against Aarthi in the Chennai Family Court.
The case, presided over by Judge Thenmozhi of the Third Family Court, had previously ordered the couple to attend mediation sessions at a reconciliation center to resolve their marital issues amicably.
As instructed, Ravi and Aarthi appeared at the mediation center yesterday, where a mediator held discussions with them for over an hour. The session aimed to explore possibilities for a resolution.
The court has now scheduled the next hearing for December to review the progress of the mediation process.
