K. Balakrishnan, the 71-year-old State Secretary of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), has been admitted to Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital in Chennai. He is reportedly receiving treatment for a cold and throat pain.According to sources from the CPI(M), his health condition is stable, and he is expected to be discharged soon.
