Red Alert for Heavy Rainfall
A red alert has been issued for the districts of Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Cuddalore, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, and Tiruvarur, as well as Puducherry and Karaikal, where rainfall exceeding 21 cm is likely today.
Orange Alert
An orange alert has been announced for Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Ariyalur, and Thanjavur districts, where heavy rainfall exceeding 12 cm is expected.
In Ranipet, Tiruvannamalai, Kallakurichi, Perambalur, Tiruchirappalli, Pudukkottai, Sivagangai, and Ramanathapuram districts, moderate rainfall up to 11 cm is anticipated.

A red alert for very heavy rainfall has been issued for Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, and Cuddalore districts, as well as Puducherry.
