Revenue Minister KKSSR Ramachandran raised questions about Vijay, the leader of the newly launched political party Tamil Nadu Vijay Makkal Iyakkam (TVK), regarding his stance on the Vengaivayal issue.Speaking to reporters, he e stated, “Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will soon announce an increase in the relief fund for those affected by Cyclone Fengal. Currently, a Central Government assessment team is evaluating the extent of the damage caused by the cyclone. Further actions will be determined based on their report.”
The minister emphasized the DMK’s continued central role in Tamil Nadu politics, saying, “Whether during the tenure of former Chief Minister Karunanidhi or under the current leadership of Chief Minister Stalin, opposition parties have always centered their politics around the DMK.”
Referring to Vijay’s recent comments about the Vengaivayal issue, he questioned, “Vijay has spoken about the issue, where police investigations are already underway. But has he ever visited Vengaivayal even once? Has he met and consoled the affected people in person?”
Highlighting the DMK government’s proactive measures, he said, “When people were affected by the cyclone and heavy rains, Chief Minister Stalin personally met the affected individuals, consoled them, and distributed relief materials. Unlike Vijay, who invites people to party offices to distribute relief materials and stage photo shoots, the Chief Minister’s actions reflect genuine concern for the people.”
The minister concluded his remarks, pointing out the stark difference between the approaches of the DMK and Vijay’s newly formed party.
