The State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu Limited (SIPCOT) is set to launch an ambitious industrial park in Sivagangai district, aiming to transform the region into a manufacturing and production hub. Spanning 775.75 acres across the villages of Iluppaikudi, Kilathari, and Arasanoor, the park is expected to drive economic development and generate employment opportunities in the area.
Officials revealed that the industrial park is projected to create 36,500 jobs, benefiting both local residents and skilled workers from across Tamil Nadu and other parts of the country. The influx of talent and resources is anticipated to boost the local economy, improve living standards, and foster the region’s overall growth.
“The industrial park will play a pivotal role in developing ancillary industries such as logistics, packaging, and warehousing, creating a ripple effect of economic activity in the region,” officials said.
The park will cater to various industries, including automobile spare parts and textiles, positioning Sivagangai as a key player in these sectors. Its presence is expected to attract significant investments, further solidifying its status as a hub for manufacturing and production.
SIPCOT has formally applied for environmental clearance to develop the park, which will require an investment of ₹342 crore. This investment will be used to build state-of-the-art infrastructure, including roads, transportation facilities, and utilities, providing an ideal environment for industries to flourish.
