Actor Kalaiyarasan is set to headline the upcoming film Trending, directed by debutant Sivaraj N. The first look of the film was unveiled on Friday, sparking curiosity among fans and cinephiles alike.
Kalaiyarasan will share the screen with Priyalaya, known for her roles in Inga Naan Thaan Kingu and Good Night, as the female lead. The supporting cast includes Prem Kumar and Besant Ravi, adding depth to the ensemble.
The first look hints at a unique storyline, focusing on a vlogging couple who go to great lengths to remain in the limelight as the “trending” pair. The intriguing caption, “How far would you go,” suggests a narrative filled with ambition, challenges, and moral dilemmas.
Interestingly, the film’s theme bears a resemblance to Kalaiyarasan’s role in the Fame Game segment of the anthology Hot Spot, directed by Vignesh Karthick, which explored the darker side of fame. Kalaiyarasan was last seen in Smile Man, alongside Sarath Kumar, and is also part of upcoming projects such as Madraskaaran, Mugam, and Thandakaaranyam.
Trending is produced by Ram Film Factory Production and Barefoot Production. The film boasts an impressive technical crew, including Praveen Balu as the cinematographer, Nagooran Ramachandran as the editor, Sam CS as the music director, and Monster Mukesh handling the stunt choreography.
