Tamil Victory Party (TVK) leader and actor Vijay has urged authorities to ensure that the real culprits in the Vengaivayal incident are identified and punished.
In his statement, Vijay emphasized the need for impartial investigations and justice for the victims. “If the conclusions of an investigation are questioned, there is no harm in subjecting it to a re-investigation. In the Vengaivayal case, various opinions have emerged regarding those accused of the crime. A fair and unbiased probe is necessary to identify the real culprits and bring them to justice,” he stated.
He also stressed that justice must not only be delivered but also be seen to be delivered to restore public confidence. “The CB-CID, under the state government, has already conducted an investigation and submitted a delayed report. Handing the case over to the CBI, under the central government, may cause further delays and deny timely justice to the people of Vengaivayal,” Vijay added.
Highlighting the severity of the incident, Vijay called for a Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the direct supervision of the High Court to investigate the matter swiftly and transparently. He also urged the government to take preventive measures to ensure that such inhumane acts do not occur in the future.
“The Vengaivayal incident deserves strong condemnation, and the perpetrators must face strict punishment. Only then can justice prevail for the victims,” Vijay concluded.
