Lyca Productions, a leading name in South Indian cinema, is set to make its debut in the Malayalam film industry with the highly anticipated project, L2E: Empuraan. Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, the film features the legendary Mohanlal in the lead role, marking their third collaboration after the blockbuster successes of Lucifer and Bro Daddy.
Empuraan is the second installment in the trilogy that began with the 2019 hit Lucifer and promises an epic cinematic experience. The teaser, launched at a grand event in Kochi, was attended by Megastar Mammootty as the chief guest, alongside the film’s principal cast and crew and other notable personalities.
The teaser introduces the character Steven Nedumpally, also known as Ab’raam Qureshi, a savior with a dark, intriguing side. Set in the abandoned Northern Iraqi town of Qaraqosh, the narrative delves into the world of power, betrayal, and control, blending political intrigue with the high-stakes realm of mercenaries. Mohanlal’s action-packed avatar and the film’s larger-than-life visuals promise an enthralling cinematic experience.
Lyca Productions, founded by Subaskaran and spearheaded by G.K.M. Tamil Kumaran, is known for producing high-budget, content-rich films. For its Malayalam debut, Lyca partnered with Antony Perumbavoor’s Aashirwad Cinemas Pvt. Ltd to produce this massive venture.
The ensemble cast features an impressive lineup including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Indrajith Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Saniya Iyyappan, Sai Kumar, and Baiju Santosh in pivotal roles.
Written by Murali Gopy, Empuraan boasts music by Deepak Dev and cinematography by Sujith Vaassudev. Suresh Balaje and George Pius served as Executive Producers, with Prithviraj Productions overseeing Production Design and Mohandas as the Art Director.
Scheduled for a grand worldwide release on March 27, 2025, L2E: Empuraan will hit theaters in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Hindi, promising a pan-India cinematic spectacle.
