In a video statement, Thirumavalavan emphasized the importance of party discipline and unity, stating, “As the party grows, senior leaders must exhibit maturity. Every member should act with restraint, setting an example for others.” However, he lamented that some senior functionaries have been posting content on social media at their own will, causing unnecessary controversies and tarnishing the party’s image.
“The actions of party leaders have deeply hurt me. It feels like adding salt to an open wound. Differences of opinion within the party are natural, but airing them on social media is detrimental to the party’s reputation,” he stated.
Highlighting his concerns over party leaders seeking publicity, he warned against accepting interview invitations without prior approval from the party leadership. “Some are attending interviews without considering the intentions of the channels inviting them. They speak without caution, which is concerning. From now on, no party functionary should participate in YouTube interviews without approval,” he declared.
Issuing a strict directive, he concluded, “As far as I am concerned, no party leader should engage with YouTube channels or give interviews until the 2026 Assembly elections, regardless of the opportunity.”
This firm stand by Thirumavalavan signals a strong effort to maintain internal discipline and prevent media controversies that could impact the party’s electoral prospects.
