Vaniyambadi witnessed a brutal daylight murder on Monday as a 40-year-old school security guard, identified as Irfan from Muslimpur, was chased and stabbed to death by an unidentified gang.
According to sources, Irfan was on his way to work at a private school on Iqbal Road when he was ambushed by a gang riding motorcycles. The attackers pushed him off his bicycle and began stabbing him. When Irfan attempted to escape, the assailants chased him down and stabbed him multiple times until he collapsed. He succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
Passersby who heard his cries rushed to the scene, forcing the culprits to flee, leaving behind the murder weapon. The police arrived shortly after and sent Irfanās body to the Vaniyambadi Government Hospital for an autopsy.
Authorities have obtained CCTV footage from the area and launched an investigation to identify the perpetrators. Meanwhile, the school where Irfan worked has been declared a holiday.
The victim is survived by his wife and three children. The gruesome incident has left the local community in shock as police intensify efforts to nab the killers.
