Kilambakkam Railway Station to become operational in July

The new Kilambakkam railway station, located near the Kalaignar Centenary Bus Terminus in Chennai, is set to become operational in the first week of July 2025. This station will improve connectivity between Chennai and southern districts by linking bus and train services.
Constructed with a ₹20 crore allocation from the Tamil Nadu government, the station includes three platforms, with two expected to be ready by July. A temporary ticket counter will also be set up.
A 450-meter foot overbridge with escalators is being built to connect the bus terminus to the railway station, ensuring safe pedestrian access across GST Road. Once operational, the station is expected to ease travel for thousands of daily commuters.
