DMDK General Secretary Premalatha Vijayakanth said her party will decide on its alliance in January 2026.
Speaking at the DMDK office in Koyambedu, she said AIADMK had promised five Lok Sabha seats and one Rajya Sabha seat during the 2024 elections. “They gave a written promise, but did not say when the Rajya Sabha seat would come. Now they say it will be in 2026,” she added.
Her comments came after AIADMK named I S Inbadurai and M Dhanapal for the Rajya Sabha polls, without giving a seat to the DMDK.
Premalatha said the final decision on the alliance will be announced on January 9, 2026, at the party’s state conference in Cuddalore.
