The music and trailer launch of the film Kuyili, starring actress Lissy Antony in the lead, was held grandly in Chennai. Produced by V.V. Arunkumar under the banner B M Film International and directed by debut filmmaker P. Murugasamy, the event witnessed the presence of prominent personalities.Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) leader and Member of Parliament Thol. Thirumavalavan launched the trailer and music, while veteran producer K. Rajan and director-actor Balaji Sakthivel received them. Director Sreejar also participated as a special guest.
Kuyili features Lissy Antony alongside Ravi Sha, Thashmika, Deepthi, âPudhupettaiâ Saravanan, and âRatsasanâ Saravanan in key roles. The filmâs cinematography is handled by Praveen Raj, with music composed by Joo Smith. The movie showcases a motherâs intense emotional journey and aims to raise awareness about the dangers of alcohol addiction. The film is set to be released worldwide by distributor Mohan.
Speaking at the event, director P. Murugasamy reflected on his journey, saying, âWhile working as an assistant to director Balaji Sakthivel, I was introduced to the works of Karl Marx, Dr. Ambedkar, and Periyar. That learning profoundly shaped both my cinematic and political thinking. This foundation helped me create a meaningful work like Kuyili.â
Actress Lissy Antony said, âI strongly believe in four valuesâpersonal choice, hard work, perseverance, and patience. Iâve lived by them all my life, and I saw the same values in producer Arunkumar, which gave me confidence in the film.â
Kuyili is expected to hit theatres worldwide soon.
