Southern Railway has revised the timings of several EMU trains in the Chennai suburban section from June 20 to August 18. The changes support the temporary shift in the origin and termination of five express train pairs from Chennai Egmore to Tambaram due to redevelopment works.
Key changes include the Tambaram–Chennai Beach EMU departing at 3.15 am instead of 11 am, and the return service from Chennai Beach leaving at 4.25 am instead of 12.15 pm. Minor timing adjustments have also been made to other services including the Chengalpattu–Gummidipoondi, Chennai Beach–Tambaram, and Arakkonam–Chennai Beach EMUs.
Special EMU trains will also operate between Tambaram and Chennai Beach during this 60-day period, including early morning services on Sundays.
