A 24-year-old law student has alleged that she was gang-raped on the campus of South Calcutta Law College on Wednesday evening. Four people have been arrested. Police found video clips of the crime on their mobile phones.
This incident comes less than a year after another brutal rape and murder at RG Kar Medical College.
On Sunday, Archana Majumder from the National Commission for Women visited the college. She said someone may be trying to hide the truth and accused the police of not fully cooperating.
The BJP held a protest march called the Kanya Suraksha Yatra in Kolkata. The march, led by opposition leader Suvendu Adhikari, saw party workers carrying torches and demanding justice for the victim.
